ASUS the Taiwanese electronic goods manufacturers does not need any
Introduction. ASUS is launching a new tablet ASUS FonePad in India. This voice
and video calling device is priced at 15,500 INR and features latest version of
Android. It also houses an Intel atom processor. It has mesmerizing looks and
eye catching features. This is not the first time ASUS came up with a device
that has Intel's processor. ASUS
launched another tablet featuring Intel Atom processor in February.
This device has
a big display and is a heavy duty device in terms of battery backup. This
tablet is expected to be launched in India this week, though taxes may be
applied on the above mentioned price. ASUS launched another tablet in India
named ASUS Memopad two months ago which was priced at 9999
INR. Memopad had a single core processor with Android JellyBean OS. Let us
review the specifications and features of this device.
Specifications of Asus FonePad:
- This tablet runs on the latest version of Android Jelly Beans.
- It comes with a big 7 inches multi touch display that supports resolutions of 1280 x 800 pixels.
- The device is powered by an Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.2GHz, so expect this to be fast.
- It comes with a 1 GB RAM and 8/16 GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD card.
- It houses dual camera. There is a 3.15 Megapixels camera at the rear end of the device for video recording and image capture and a 1.2 Mega pixels front facing camera for video calling.
- The device supports voice and video calling.
- For connectivity it supports 3G, WIFI, micro USB and Bluetooth.
- It comes with other features like Geo-tagging, Accelerometer, proximity, compass and GPS.
- There is a heavy duty 4270mAh battery under its back cover to fuel this device that can give up to 9 hours talk time on 3G.
It has all the
features that make it desirable among the users. If you are looking for a
powerful voice and video calling device it is one. The price tag is in the
mid-budget and it may compete with other mid-budget devices like Nokia Lumia.
Earlier ASUS collaborated with Google, for the development of Nexus 7.
